The Morning Prayer service on Sunday, December 6th at 11:30 a.m. will be partly in English and partly in Dutch. The psalms, anthems and hymns sung by the Dutch Choral Singers (directed by Henk de Vries) and the liturgical texts wil be in English, whereas the Bible readings, the sermon and prayers will be in Dutch. The theme of this service is taken from the Gospel of John, where John the Baptist appears and testifies: “I am the voice of one crying out in the desert: make straight the way of the Lord, as Isaiah the prophet said”. The service is ministered by Revd. Rudolf Oosterdijk. The organ is played by Eeuwe Zijlstra.
There will be limited seating available. If you want to attend the service, it is necessary to register beforehand (no later than Saturday at noon) via this registration form. De Morning Prayer van zondag 6 december om 11:30 uur zal een viering zijn die gedeeltelijk in het Engels en gedeeltelijk in het Nederlands wordt gehouden. De koorzang door de Dutch Choral Singers (onder leiding van Henk de Vries) en de liturgische teksten zijn in het Engels, terwijl de bijbellezingen, de overweging en de gebeden in het Nederlands zijn. Het thema van de dienst komt uit het Evangelie naar Johannes, waarin Johannes de Doper ten tonele verschijnt en getuigt: “Ik ben de stem die roept in de woestijn: maak recht de weg van de Heer, zoals de profeet Jesaja gezegd heeft”. Voorganger in deze dienst is Rudolf Oosterdijk. Het orgel wordt bespeeld door Eeuwe Zijlstra.
Aanmeldprocedure: wil je de viering meemaken, meld je dan uiterlijk zaterdagmiddag om 12:00 uur aan via het registratieformulier. De link staat ook onderaan op de pagina met corona-huisregels.
